Leonid Khromchenko
I was born in Moscow, in the hospital shelter, on the first day of the Germans bombing Moscow (16th July, 1941). Between the years 1948-1958 I studied at the 504th school in Moscow. I took interest in photography since my school years, and after school tried to get accepted to the Institute of Cinema. After my attempts have failed I was taken to serve in the Soviet Army for 3 years, and when I got back, I started working in Mosfilm cinema studios. There, in Mosfilm, I worked between the years 1964-1976, first as a technician and then as a second cinematographer.
In March 1977 I, together with my wife, Frida Raskin, and my 2 years daughter Yulie, I immigrated to Israel. From autumn 1977 and till summer 2009 I worked as a cinematographer on 1st TV channel, with a short break in the 80s` (then I worked for a short period as a stills photographer in the Israeli Museum).
On summer 2009 I retired, and now I have more time to pursue photography.
From the end of the 90s` I am a member of the Jerusalem Photo Club, and took part in the clubs` group exhibitions.
