1936 – Born in Nikolaev, Ukraine.
1977 – Repatriated to Israel.

Education

1960 – M.S. in Engineering, Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute.
1971 – M.A. State Institute of Cinematography, Moscow (ВГИК).

Professional Experience

1961 – 1966 – Head of the Central Film Department of the Ministry of Shipbuilding. Made 13 scientific films.
1966 – 1976 – Film director at the Leningrad Studio of popular Scientific Films. Directed sixteen popular scientific & educational films. Worked also as a cinematographer and screen-writer. Three films received first awards at international film festivals. Two films [one about parapsychology and the other one about the painter Pavel Filonov ] were banned. Four popular science films: “Blue Bird”, “A Struggle with a Madman”, “The esthetics of Labor” & “An Unfinished Report” were never shown in the USSR and were destroyed when he left Russia.
1977-1980- Director & cameraman at the “ Israel Film Service”
1981-1982- Director & cameraman at the “Educational T.V”, as well as at the TV programme “8 ½”
1982 – 2001 – Head of Photography Department at the Eretz Israel Museum, Tel-Aviv.
1986-1989 – Lecturer, “Beit Zvi”- School of Theatre & Cinematography, Tel Aviv
1992 – Editing director of the film “The Jews of Odessa”. The film received the First prize at the International Competition “The Jewish Heritage “.
1985-2001 – Participated in numerous International photo-exhibitions in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Australia, Russia.
A member of the Israeli and International Federation of Photographic Art – FIAP, a member of the Union of artists of Israel. The designer of posters, magazines, books (over 20 covers). Curator of art exhibitions.
